Intel’s Matt Birch discussed gaming opportunities for resellers

Terra showcases line-up of devices at first UK event

Wortmann’s PC brand Terra showcased a line-up of new products during its first UK event today.

Taking place in Coventry’s transport museum, resellers turned up to get hands on with the latest devices including Terra’s new ruggedised Pad 885 (pictured right).

The Pad has been designed with military standards and features Gorilla Glass, plus it can also survive drops of up to one metre without gaining so much as a scratch.

Terra’s UK MD Neil Jensen went on to show footage of a rugby team putting the device to the test, where players were seen standing on its screen without one crack appearing.

Other devices shown off included the EDU Pad 1040 (pictured below), a tablet designed for students, as well as a range of mini PCs and desktops.

Intel’s UK channel sales manager Matthew Birch also discussed Intel’s wireless technologies at the event, from wireless charging to wireless docking capabilities.

High on the agenda was the Internet of Things (IoT) as well as opportunities around gaming for resellers.

He said: “Gamers refresh rates are far quicker, they want new stuff all the time and particularly this year there is a lot of new stuff available – Intel processors, SSD drives, DDR4, graphics, there is so much that these guys want.

“There’s not a lot of competition from the big multinational companies. You don’t see the Dells and HPs (doing much), they dabble in it but there’s less direct competition which allows opportunity for you.”
