Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and Killer Instinct coming to PC

The rumours were true: Microsoft to port key Xbox titles to PC

Alongside its big news of Minecraft for Hololens, and the reveal of the latest Gears of War and Halo titles, Microsoft has used E3 to underline its commitment to Windows 10 as a gaming platform.

As predicted by PCR last month, the gaming and tech giant has announced that a number of its biggest Xbox One games are making their way to Windows 10. These include pillar title Killer Instinct – and users will be able to fight it out online, regardless of platform.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will also be rolled out for PC, with support for DirectX 12 and 4K resolution.

Microsoft has yet to give release dates for either title.

Meanwhile, the firm also announced its Elite Controller, which Xbox boss Phil Spencer referred to as “an elite controller for the elite gamer” which will be available for both Xbox One and Windows 10.

Microsoft’s head of Xbox Phil Spencer admitted: "There have been times in our past where Microsoft has maybe lost our way with PC gaming."
