Sarah Flannigan takes on the role of Consumer Business Manager

Tech Data PC category manager moves to Exertis

Distributor Exertis has hired Sarah Flannigan as its new consumer business manager.

Sarah joins Exertis from rival distie Tech Data, where she was formerly the PC category manager, covering both consumer and commercial products.

In her new role, she will be responsible for building relationships with new and existing consumer electronics manufacturers, developing brand awareness and growing Exertis’ consumer electronic business within retail and ‘potentially other channels’. She brings eight years of distribution knowledge and experience to Exertis.

"During her tenure in distribution, Sarah has developed an in-depth knowledge of consumer markets and how to manage the expectations and demands of large retailers," said Exertis in a statement.

"Her exposure to both the consumer market and the commercial market has given her a comprehensive understanding of their key differences. Managing a team within Tech Data gave Sarah an insight into the most effective way to nurture relationships between a distributor and with the vendors or customers they represent, in order to achieve the best results.

"She will also focus on building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business, manufacturers and customers, to gain their trust and demonstrate why Exertis should always be their preferred distributor."

Flannigan added: “Exertis is well known for its success in the retail market and I am excited to see how these relationships work. From my time here so far, I can see the calibre of people who work here is great, and they are both welcoming and driven to achieve fantastic results.

"I look forward to working in a different division with new relationships and products, learning from others while bringing my own experience and ideas to the team.”
