Instead of getting his old Dell computer fixed by a professional, owner takes extreme measures

Man shoots problematic PC with 9mm handgun

A man in the US could be facing legal action after he took his broken computer into an alley and shot it with a 9mm handgun.

A police spokesperson said that the man, 37-year-old Lucas Hinch, had been having issues with the machine so “took it to the back alley and destroyed it”.

Hinch was detained after the incident for discharging a firearm within city limits of Colorado Springs, but said he did not realise he was breaking the law.

He had apparently got tired of fighting with the computer for several months, and when the good old ctrl+alt+delete method failed to work, Hinch “shot the darn thing”, reports the Colorado Springs Gazette

"He got tired of fighting with his computer for the last several months," Lt. Jeff Strossner said. "He was having technology problems, so he took it out in the back alley and shot it."

Everybody has experienced a computer being slow, and the urge to take a hammer to it can sometimes be overwhelming, but this is admittedly a little excessive.

A judge is currently deciding on the penalty.
