Intel has revealed the price of its ‘revolutionary’ new 750 Series consumer solid state drives (SSD) that feature NVM Express (NVMe) technology.
The components vendor says it delivers four times the performance of traditional SATA-based SSDs, and is Intel’s highest performing Client SSD for consumer PC storage devices and workstations.
It is available in two versions: as an add-in card (pictured, which can slot directly into a motherboard) and a 2.5-inch small form factor version.
The 400GB drive’s MSRP is $389 and the 1.2TB version is $1,029. Intel says that average selling prices will vary at UK retail and that it only provides recommended prices in US dollars.
The NVMe 750 Series SSD was announced earlier this month following an Intel performance SSD tease.
It features PCIe 3.0 X4 Performance for enthusiast and workstation, a five-year Intel limited warranty, "no form factor or power restrictions, and no legacy baggage", 2X Sequential Write, 4X Sequential Read, 3X Random Write and 4.5X Random Read.
Intel says the SSD boasts improved multi-core platform performance, and bootable, plug and play NVMe storage for client PCs with "world class quality and reliability features".
The 2.5-inch version is targeting small form factor PCs like the Falcon Northwest, Digital Storm and Asus machines, and these systems will require a cable option to support the new Intel 750 Series.
