CompTIA publishes its channel report findings after its EMEA conference this week

70% of UK channel firms undergoing ‘business transformation’

CompTIA has released the results of its State of the UK Channel Report at its 2014 EMEA Member and Partner Conference.

The report, which identifies key trends and issues affecting businesses, found that 70 per cent of the UK channel is undergoing business transformation to match its customer demand for new IT systems.

38 per cent said that cloud computing was a key factor for this change, while 49 per cent said that customer demand for different services and delivery was one of the main drivers behind this business transformation.

Results also showed difficulty in this change, with 40 per cent saying that they struggled with balancing existing business needs with new areas.

Other findings from the report revealed that the greatest threats to future business activity are price-sensitive customers not buying, competition from new entrants in the market and the industry being squeezed by declining margins.

CompTIA also held its EMEA Member and Partner Conference earlier this week, where leading IT solution providers, vendors and distributors met to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the IT channel.
