MDisc 1,000-year data storage on show at Boot Camp North

MDisc data storage tech will be shown off at PCR Boot Camp North next month.

The conference and expo – held at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, on November 12th – is free to resellers and retailers, who can sign up here.

MDisc promises its storage disc allows data, such as music, video, pictures and documents, to be stored in excess of 1,000 years.

"The MDisc technology is a permanent storage solution, perfect for archiving precious data," said MDisc director Kevin Jefcoate.

"The eco-system is what we will be promoting, so hardware will include DVD and Blu-ray drives (burners) from LG, Samsung, software from Nero and the DVD and Blu-ray discs from both MDisc and Verbatim.

"MDisc is a relative newcomer to Europe and it is essential that we create awareness for the eco-system for permanent storage, and PCR Boot Camp North provides an opportunity for us to formally make a presentation to 100-plus delegates, as well as demonstrate the products on the stand in the exhibition area, and informally get to know our future partners better during the drinks reception,"

"These events are crucial for us to get out amongst the channel."

MDisc says its technology is being used in the Whitehouse, US Naval and NASA as well as many Federal and government offices.
