'World's first' 34-inch curved IPS 21:9 UltraWide display features a 3440x1440 pixel resolution

LG to show off curved monitor in UK this month

LG will present a 34-inch UltraWide curved PC monitor to the UK trade this month.

The IPS 21:9 Quad HD monitor (pictured below) features a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels, and is the first in the world of its kind, according to the manufacturer.

It combines a curved IPS screen with a 178 viewing angle, and promises a ‘more immersive experience’ for multimedia professionals and gaming enthusiasts.

The monitor will be shown off at LG Booth 18 at the the Midwich Technology Exposed showcase, which takes place on September 17th and 18th at Ascot Racecourse.

LG will also present a 98-inch edge-lit LED Widescreen Ultra HD for the first time in the UK. The display is four times the resolution of Full HD with 3840×2160 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. With a bezel width of 14.6mm at its thinnest point, the new display offers an alternative to traditional tiled video walls being equivalent to a 2×2 47-inch configuration.

The 98-inch display will be mounted using Peerless AV’s Quick Release Video Wall Mount – the DS-VW795-QR – which can articulate the screen away from the wall by gently pressing on the front of the display. This enables quick access to the rear of the screen without needing to demount it from the wall.

Warren Lewis, European Director for Commercial Screens and Displays at LG, commented: "We are continually raising the bar for the digital signage industry. Our development focus is now on higher-resolution, higher-brightness and enhanced energy-efficiency displays utilising LED and Ultra HD technology. Continued leadership with UHD displays and the advantages of IPS panels make LG large format displays the perfect choice for future-proofed digital signage.”
