Intel "to elevate FC Barcelona into one of the most technologically advanced soccer clubs in the world"

Intel signs FC Barcelona inside-shirt logo sponsorship deal

Intel will be placing its Intel Inside logo literally on the inside of FC Barcelona football shirts as part of a new sponsorship deal.

The new jersey for the top Spanish football side was unveiled at Barcelona’s training facilities and will be worn starting from the La Liga match against Villareal on December 14th.

As part of the deal, Intel-based technology will be provided to the students at the La Masia academy, Barcelona players and coaches will be supplied with Intel-based two-in-one devices, and Intel will work with the club to improve its research, training and performance using up-to-date technology.

Intel will also be "working to improve the fan experience through new technology at Camp Nou" and delivering the latest tech to FC Barcelona’s education network.

"This is more than a sponsorship to Intel," said Deborah Conrad, Intel chief marketing officer. "The technology we are deploying and the programs we are working on together are designed to elevate FC Barcelona into one of the most technologically advanced soccer clubs in the world, and to launch an ambitious slate of educational initiatives."

FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell added: "It is a huge satisfaction for FC Barcelona to be able to join forces and share the values of innovation and teamwork with a company of such worldwide prestige as Intel.

"We are both trendsetters in our fields, and I am convinced the collaboration we are starting today will be very important. It will mean much more than a financial sponsorship."
