Elder Scrolls Online to hit PC months ahead of next-gen consoles

The release dates for the Elder Scrolls Online have been revealed, with PC gamers set to get their hands on the title months before it hits next-gen consoles.

The highly-anticipated Bethesda MMO role-playing game will be available for PC and Mac from April 4th 2014, in both digital and boxed versions.

It will land on the Xbox One and PS4 two months later in June.

"Worldwide demand for The Elder Scrolls Online is extraordinarily high,” explained game director Matt Firor.

“This means we need to do a staggered rollout of the different versions of the game to spread out the initial service load and ensure an enjoyable, smooth gameplay experience."

The game, which will require a monthly subscription, will feature PVP battles of over 100 players.
