New concept store will offer discounts to travellers

Dixons opens ‘store of the future’ with floating screens

Dixons Travel has unveiled its first new concept store at Gatwick Airport, with floating screens, 10-inch tablet ‘look books’ and a ‘KNOWHOW’ bar.

The new 1,466 square foot space will feature a mixture of the latest tech products and a number of travel essentials. 10-inch tablet ‘look books’ will sit next to products allowing customers to find out more information and associated offers.

The Dixons Travel store will be fitted with a KNOWHOW bar, giving customers hands-on tech advice and repairs. As well as this, there will be digital visual merchandising tables with 32-inch rear projection ‘floating screens’ over specially themed areas.

Jeremy Fennell, managing director for Dixons Travel, said: “This is the store of the future for us. We are focused on delivering a better range and store experience for Travel customers, including a focus on portable items, accessories and other flight-ready products.”

Visitors to Gatwick Airport will be sent a text message upon arrival offering them a £10 off £100 spend voucher at Dixons Travel in the South Terminal.
