YouTube gets retro makeover for Geek Week

YouTube has gone all retro on us by giving its search results section a Teletext-style look and feel in advance of Geek Week.

It now sports an ASCII logo, black background and simpler fonts.

The video sharing site tweeted: "Crack the code to go retro: 53 65 61 72 63 68 20 59 6f 75 54 75 62 65 20 66 6f 72 20 2f 20 67 65 65 6b 77 65 65 6b #GeekWeek"

Users can make YouTube go retro by (spoiler) visiting the YouTube website and typing / geekweek into the search bar.

YouTube’s Geek Week runs from August 4th to 10th and celebrates tech videos, gaming, special effects, movies and more. You can check out the Geek Week teaser trailer below:
