A court has banned sales of Apple’s iPhone 3GS and 4, iPad and iPad 2, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S1 and S2, and its Galaxy Tab and Tab 10.1.
The ban comes after the South Korean court ruled that Apple and Samsung both infringed each other’s patents on mobile devices.
The court ordered Apple to pay 40m won (£22,000) in damages to Samsung, and Samsung to pay 25m won to Apple. The court ruled that the US tech giant had infringed two Samsung patents, while the Korean firm had violated one patent that Apple held.
These payouts are dwarfed by the damages being sought by the US company in another Apple/Samsung patent case currently going on in California. Apple is seeking more than $2.5bn (£1.6bn) from Samsung for violating a number of patented designs for iPad and iPhone.
