ThreeGates Studios has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new co-op RPG aimed at core PC gamers.
The campaign is hoping to raise $25,000, enabling ThreeGates to ramp up its polish phase for Legends of Aethereus, which successfully completed a closed beta over the past month.
“We are at the doorstep of releasing the game and we want to do so in a fashion that will provide great content and quality for core PC gamers. To do this we are asking for some support to give us that nudge we need to deliver a quality product meeting the needs of our core target group,” said the studio on its Kickstarter page.
Legends of Aethereus is a high action, low fantasy RPG with four player co-op and a variety of PvP game types. Gamers can build new weapons and develop their character across an expansive skill tree to allow for a multitude of character strategies.
The co-op hack-n-slash action game includes a physics-based combat system, including traps, set-up weapons and interactions with environmental objects. There is also a statue maker and banner creator, giving the users the ability to personalise their own city environment.
“We believe that the core PC Gaming audience is really hungry for a game that can deliver a deep core experience, interesting choices, and more control over how you look as an individual, as well as how you play the game,” said Don Geyer, CEO of ThreeGates.
Fans interested in backing the project can pledge anything from 1$ upwards. There are rewards for different amounts pledged, ranging from $5, which gets your named in the credits, to a whopping $10,000. For this amount you will receive a whole bunch of goodies, including official bed sheets, signed collectors edition, four digital copies of the game, and a consultation with designers to develop a completely customisable, unique gear kit.
The project will only be funded if at least $25,000 is pledged by Sunday July 22nd at 3:15am EDT. Interested parties can check out all the information and back the project here.
