Dell shows off new tablet

Dell’s chief executive has shown off a new seven-inch tablet at the Oracle OpenWorld conference.

Michael Dell displayed the device, which Reuters suggests runs on the Android operating system, but did not provide any further details.

He did, however, announce that the firm’s existing five-inch Streak table, which was launched last month, will soon be available in Best Buy stores in the US, after previously only being available direct from the Dell website.

Dell added that his company expects to generate over $60 billion in revenue this year.

The tablet announcement comes just days before RIM is expected to launch its so-called BlackPad.
