Asda slashes price of 4th gen iPod

Asda has begun selling the new 4th generation Apple iPod Touch 32GB for £236, £13 cheaper than the Apple Store.

Asda appears to be the first to offer the new iPod at a retail discount where others, like the world’s largest retailer Amazon, are offering the iPod at prices exactly the same price as the Apple store.

However the device is not currently listed as "out of stock" on the Asda web site without any indication of shipping date. The Apple store presently says 5-7 working days and Amazon UK says 1 to 3 weeks. Asda is operating a service to tell customers when the iPod arrives.

The new version of the iPod features the same processor as the new iPhone 4 and iPads and the high resolution ‘retina’ display from the iPhone 4 as well as forward and back facing cameras supporting HD video recording.
