Blackberry sales boost revenue but results still fall short of expectations

RIM reports strong sales

Research in Motion has reported strong international sales, with quarterly revenue growing by 18 per cent year-on-year, although that fell slightly short of predictions.

Accroding to ZDNet, the maker of Blackberry reported overall revenue of $4.08 billion and Net income was $710 million, compared to $518 million for the same quarter last year. Analysts had forecast revenue of $4.31 billion.

In a conference call, RIM’s co-chief executive officer Jim Balsillie hinted at a number of new product releases later this year, but refused to elaborate, saying: “If you saw the roadmap, you’d be blown away.”
