BlackBerry strikes mobile TV deal

BlackBerry mobiles will soon be able to access an emerging on-demand mobile TV service.

ROK TV allows users to stream footage to their phones if they able to connect to a 3G, or even 2.5G, network.

The service is currently being used on Nokia and Sony Ericsson devices, with Blackberry compatibility providing ROK’s next key expansion.

"This is great news for ROK and represents huge potential for the continued deployment of ROK TV," said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROK.

The ROK TV service was established in 2004, and offers customers subscriptions to a range of TV channels as well as on-demand-purchased programmes.
