Early customers can get the operating system up to 65 per cent cheaper

Windows 7 available for pre-orders

Microsoft’s Windows 7 is to be available with a discount for those customers that pre-order the operating system.

The Home Premium edition will see its price cut from £149.99 to £49.99, while the Professional edition will be priced at £99.99 instead of £189.99, although retail prices may vary.

This special offer will begin at midnight tonight and will continue until August 9th and is available from participating retailers – Amazon, Comet, Currys, eBuyer, Littlewoods, Anvika, PC World, Staples, Argos, John Lewis, Tesco or the Microsoft Store.

“Our customers have been critical in making Windows 7 great and we didn’t feel words alone were enough to express our appreciation,” reads Microsoft’s website. “That’s why we’re saying thank you by giving you a chance to be among the first to get Windows 7, and at a special price.”

The operating system will be available for general release on October 22nd.
