INTERVIEW: Vendor says technology will become crucial to normal PCs within years

CoolIT: Water-cooling must become easier to use

CoolIT has predicted that water-cooling will become a mainstream feature in PCs over the coming years as demands on processing power increase.

The company has recognised that there are barriers to entry for normal PC users, including price and difficulty of installing.

It says these must be removed in the coming years, as the technology will increasingly become important for normal systems.

"Five years ago, the concept of water-cooling a PC was unthinkable except to a few niche enthusiasts," explains CoolIT’s application specialist, Barry Reicker. "But we believe it will go completely mainstream within a couple of years.

"The benefits of liquid are undeniable, so as time goes on, more and more people are looking to get involved. Our mission is simple: to develop products that make liquid cooling more affordable, reliable and easier to use than ever before."
