Pricing for forthcoming subscription based software model announced

Microsoft details cloud offering

Microsoft has announced the UK pricing system for its subscription based software distribution model – or its ‘cloud’ initiative.

As previously reported, the model represents a distinct shift in approach for Microsoft – though the firm is insistent the channel will not be cut out of the deal.

Exchange Deskless Worker, SharePoint Deskless Worker, Deskless Worker Suite, Exchange Online Standard, Office SharePoint Online Standard, Office Communications Online, and Office Live Meeting will all be offered for a monthly fee ranging from just over a pound to nearly £7 for a month’s use.

The firm is calling the conglomeration a Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), which costs £10.04 a month.

The initiative will launch in the UK sometime in spring this year. With analysts predicting massive growth in this subscription based model, you can expect it to be a key feature of software firm’s messaging in the future.
