Retail Vision: CEO of parent firm Everything Channel hints event could come to UK

Retail Vision to come to UK?

After purchasing Retail Vision in February this year, new owner Everything Channel has bold plans for the event, including a possible show in the UK which could threaten Channel Expo.

Speaking exclusively to PC Retail, CEO of Everything Channel Robert Faletra commented on the strength of the UK market and the ambitious plans his firm has for the Retail Vision brand, hinting towards an unannounced UK show.

"Clearly the UK’s an important market. You’ve got to ask yourself why wouldn’t you do something there," he said. "You’ll see a much bigger presence by us in the UK as you will throughout Europe and into Asia. We didn’t buy this to sit still. The real goal is to grow the Retail Vision business to a world-wide opportunity for retailers as well as the vendors that are trying to engage with them."

Meanwhile, international event director Gemma Walker told us that the no-nonsense approach of Retail Vision and its focus on bringing buyers and sellers together efficiently made it significantly different from any trade show currently operating in the UK.

"Compared to a standard trade show like Channel Expo, which does has a conference element, but as far as I’m aware there’s no option to allow you to pre-book meetings," she said.

"What I would say is that if you take the number of delegates you get at Channel Expo, although this is a lot smaller, its so focussed on bringing a buyer and seller together. People actually sign business here, they do deals here. They are fully aware of what they came here to do."
