Analytical tool could be used to prove tangible differences in performance between various PCs

FutureMark releases PCMark

FutureMark, the company behind the gaming performance analysing software, 3DMark, have announced the release of the latest iteration of its general performance software, PCMark.

The software, which analyses a PCs performance in a set of differing tasks, rates individual PCs on their power. The latest version however, is only available for use on Microsoft’s Windows Vista.

However, the new tool far from being the sole preserve of geeks could be used to aid selling if utilised correctly. If used to give a tangible difference in abilities between differing PCs, it could be used to upsell more expensive and powerful models.
