Firm estimates four million units to be produced this year

Quanta wins HP laptop contract

Quanta has won the contract to produce the latest line of HP laptops, after beating a rival tender from Asustek.

HP is expected to order around four million units of the 15.4-inch laptop in 2008, with further orders to follow after that.

Quanta, currently the largest ODM notebook manufacturer has estimated that it will ship around 30 million units in 2008, an increase of two million units from this year.
