UK mobile-phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse is to give away a "free Dell Inspiron and wireless router worth over £500" to those customers who sign up for a 24-month contract for AOL through its stores.
This follows yesterday’s announcement by PC World that it would be offering a similar promotion, albeit with an Ei Systems 3101 laptop. A quick look at Dell’s website shows a very similarly configured laptop to the one described in the advert, the Dell 6400 which is currently on offer from the vendor’s site for £399.
The laptop won’t be stocked in store – instead, customers who take advantage of the deal will be handed a voucher, which can be used to claim their free computer. Customers will also be able to take advantage of upgrades, however they themselves will have to pay the extra cost.
