High-spec portable PC aims to replace need for a desktop machine

Evesham unveils 17? Zieo N500-HD notebook

PC manufacturer Eversham has announced the specs for its upcoming Zieo N500-HD notebook, a machine it claims boasts enough horsepower to rival that found in many desktop PCs.

Featuring a 2.2GHz Intel Core Duo and 2GB DDR II RAM, along with 1GB of Intel Turbo Memory, the machine should be capable of multitasking with even the most demanding of applications.

Graphics wise the N500-HD boasts an Nvidia GeForce 8600M, which boasts DirectX10 support. Other extras include an integrated 1.3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, wireless PCI LAN, a built in digital TV tuner, 160GB hard drive and DVD re-writer.

Add to this the integrated HDMI port and the machine seems to boast some appealing credentials.

The basic N500-HD model will retail at £1099.
