The Professional Computing Association has launched IT Channel Events, an online calendar designed to stop clashes between key industry dates.

PCA organises the channel

The PCA says that it will try to ensure all major trade shows are on the planner, but asks that organisers inform it of any seminars, road shows, conferences, training days, golf days, fun days and other events they also wish to be included.

Vendors and distributors that want to have their dates listed on IT Channel Events should register on the trade pages of the PCA website at www.professionalcomputingassociation.com/index.php.

Apparently, the idea for IT Channel Events came about last year when it was discovered that three reseller organisations that had many members in common were holding major events within ten days of each other.

“All too often, channel players and partners find that they are torn between attending different events taking place on the same day, and for many resellers taking time out more than once or twice in the same month can be challenging,” said Keith Warburton, CEO of the PCA.

“Similarly, vendors and distributors may only find out when it’s too late that their event conflicts with someone else’s," continued Warburton. "By entering their events on our online event planner they can ensure there is minimum conflict and thus achieve maximum effectiveness. In accordance with our aims of benefiting the whole channel and marketplace, we are offering this service free to the whole industry.”
