The retail giant was today offering copies of the Home and Student version of the office software on its website for £95.99 – a price drop of 20 per cent. Other versions were similarly discounted, with the Small Business version going for £319, Professional for £359.99 and the Ultimate edition for £479.999.
The short-lived ‘deal of the day’ is only valid until 10am on February 23rd, but will no doubt ruffle the feathers of Tesco’s competitors seeing as the price cut has emerged so soon after the software’s launch.
Tesco was recently in the news for releasing its own brand utility software at comparatively rock bottom prices – with Tesco Complete Office directly competing with Microsoft in one of its most secure product areas. The suite consists of Tesco Write, Spreadsheet, Database and Presentation and retails for £19.97.
Meanwhile, Tesco Direct is offering price cuts on a range of consumer electronic and IT products. The Buffalo 256MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive is being sold for £6.98 down from £11.97, the Fuji A500 Digital Camera for £59.97 down from £69.97, the HP 1510 All in One Printer for £34.97 down from £79.97, and the retailer is having a clearance on its digital cameras and camcorders.
