FSC is set to inject £1 million into the channel to bolster indirect server sales.

Fujitsu Siemens champions the channel with big cash investment

The German based vendor will be aggressively pushing its X86 range into the UK channel with a £1 million advertising campaign over the next three months, in a strategy it unflinchingly states is designed to further snatch market share away from direct sellers such as Dell.

Around half of the ample sum will be spent on channel initiatives such as margin incentive schemes, marketing development funds, consultancy support and managed business plans for its top partners. A road show is also schedule sometime between April and June.

“2007 will see FSC making its largest investment in the X86 market to date and we will be aggressively targeting the UK channel,” said Joe Duran, server product marketing manager at Fujitsu Siemens. “This is a great opportunity for resellers to combat the migration to direct fulfilment and consequent loss of business. Our investment in the channel will not only maintain but actively extend our leading growth in this part of the server market. We are confident that this trend of FSC leading blade server growth will continue.”

The bullish comments follow a successful period for the firm in terms of server revenues, having recently overtaken Dell to take the top spot in Europe.
