Following strong Q3 results, Acer has usurped Dell to reach the second place in the EMEA PC market.

Acer topples Dell to take No.2 spot

According to data released by Gartner, Acer’s sales grew by 37 per cent in Q3 – three times that of the global PC market as a whole. In the notebook segment, the firm recorded 40.2 per cent growth giving it a 20.9 per cent market share.

“Thirty years of success and achievements in such a dynamic and volatile market are testament to Acer’s determination and instinctive ability to move in the right direction,” said Gianfranco Lanci, president of Acer. “Our strategic decision to focus on both R&D and marketing has provided Acer with a solid base for growth, and ensures we are ready to face any difficulties that may arise in the future.”

In the global PC market, Acer ranks first in Russia, the Czech Republic and Poland. While in the notebook sector, it is now ranked as first in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece and Poland.
