Key industry players sign up for first time Innovative new appointment system unveiled

Countdown to CTS begins

THE BUILD-UP to the Computer Trade Show has begun, with organiser VNU Exhibitions announcing new exhibitors for this year’s event, as well as some innovative initiatives. Now with a later slot of May 10th to 11th, the NEC exhibition – which runs alongside the Technology Retailer Show – has attracted a number of key industry players for the first time this year.

Latest big names to pledge support include Ingram Micro, RTI, Widget, Centerprise, VIP Computers, Enta Technologies, Interface, Scan Computers and AMD. At the same time, a new initiative will give both visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to set up appointments via a central peer-to-peer system.

“One of the things we are very keen to do is to help educate our exhibitors on how to make the show work even better for them,” explains marketing manager Kate Macbeth. “For example,
one very simple strategy is to actually invite customers to your booth at the show. Our research has shown that visitors are 75 per cent more likely to go to the show if they’ve been invited
by a particular company. The new appointments system we’ve introduced will make it much easier to do this.”
