Cherry XTRFY has introduced the M42V2, a 45g modular gaming mouse designed to deliver competitive performance at an accessible price point.
Announced at Gamescom, the M42V2 is the first model in a new mouse series from the brand. It features two interchangeable back shells, allowing players to adjust the shape to suit palm, claw or fingertip grip styles. The solid-shell construction avoids the perforated designs common in lightweight mice, while maintaining a clean, durable feel.
Emil “HeatoN” Christensen, eight-time Counter-Strike world champion, said the mouse “surprised” him, adding that its shape, weight and click feel set a new bar for its price category.
The M42V2 includes button grooves for improved grip, a matte UV coating and UHMW‑PE glides, offering smooth, controlled movement without the use of Teflon. Settings such as CPI, polling rate, lift-off distance and debounce time can be adjusted directly on the mouse with no software required.
Powered by a Pixart 3327 sensor, the M42V2 supports CPI levels from 400 to 6200, a 1000Hz polling rate and Huano Transparent Blue Shell Pink Dot switches rated for 80 million clicks. A 1.8m CHERRY XTRFY EZcord cable provides flexible, low‑drag movement out of the box.
