SwipeStation's Nick Barnett

SwipeStation appoints Nick Barnett as Client Services Director

Contact-free mobile payment service, SwipeStation, has appointed Nick Barnett as Client Services Director.

Nick Barnett previously worked at Gloucester Rugby as Bar Operations Manager. In addition to nine years at Kingsholm Stadium, Barnett has managed bar services at a number of globally renowned venues including, Ascot, Ashton Gate, Wentworth, Silverstone, Welford Road and a number of festivals.

“I am thrilled to be joining SwipeStation and look forward to building on the company’s exceptional success. I am confident that with my twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry, I will be able to support even more stadiums and other mass gatherings to reopen safely and profitably,” commented Barnett.

As Client Services Director, Barnett’s role will include the overseeing of the company’s expanding client portfolio as stadiums and venues reopen their gates to fans. His wealth of experience in Stadia and Events will bridge the gap between the service and the clients SwipeStation serves. Barnett understands the challenges and how to help fix them – with a product he himself has been using for four years.

“I first encountered SwipeStation while at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. I was immediately impressed by how quickly fans were being served – especially at half time. I introduced the service at Kingsholm (Gloucester) a few weeks later and revenue increased by 13% across the whole season. The rest is history!” said Barnett.

With pioneering technology to make stadiums and large venues safe again post-COVID-19, SwipeStation has solved the problem of needing to queue for a pint. Providing an innovative contact-free mobile payment service, three of the biggest caterers in the UK market have already adopted SwipeStation’s offering, in addition to a number of football and rugby clubs, including Harlequins, Wasps RFC, AFC Bournemouth and Sunderland AFC.

“We are delighted to have Nick join us at SwipeStation during this unprecedented period of growth,” commented Adam King, CEO of SwipeStation. “With an extensive background in the hospitality sector, Nick is able to communicate to clients with extraordinary knowledge and expertise. His appointment is a significant next step towards helping Britain’s greatest venues make noise again – it’s great to have him on board and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”
