TRIC, the Television Radio and Industry Club (www.tric.org.uk) has launched a new campaign ‘the 12 days of Giving’, its first online auction to raise money for Combat Stress and the Albert Kennedy Trust (akt). TRIC promotes mutual understanding, goodwill and networking among those in the technology and related industries, raising money for good causes nominated by TRIC.
The 12 days of giving campaign launches today, Tuesday 01 December. This year TRIC is supporting the excellent work that Combat Stress does dealing with complex mental health issues for veterans, and AKT who look after the young LGBTQ+ community facing homelessness or living in hostile environments. These organisations have seen a huge reduction to donations as a direct result of COVID and yet a massive surge in cases across the UK since April. TRIC is urging people to help support these organisations at this difficult time.
TRIC works with all broadcasters and manufacturers and run high profile industry networking events such as the TRIC Awards, TRIC Christmas Lunch, both held at the Grosvenor House and also the TRIC Summer Party held at Somerset House all attended by celebrities, influencers and broadcasters. This year the organisation had to cancel two of these events which has profoundly impacted the charities the organisation supports.
According to Alexia Sciplino, TRIC Director: “The TRIC has always worked to raise money for good causes through high profile events. With the organisation unable to hold our events at the moment due to these unprecedented times, the vulnerable need our help more than ever. We have therefore created the 12 days of Giving auction to help raise funds. We have set a target to raise £20,000 over the next year. We’re asking our wonderful, kind and loyal supporters and members of the public to donate what they can to help us reach our goal – just £5 or £10 can make a world of difference to the charities we support.”
