Distributor Titan Data Solutions celebrates first birthday

Titan Data Solutions is celebrating its first birthday. Formed this time last year, Titan was created by four individuals with over 50 years experience in the data storage industry.

It came to market with a proposition based around a small group of niche vendors, with the intention of providing solutions to resellers in all aspects of data storage and cybersecurity.

Acknowledging that trying to do something different in an industry with a very well established channel model was risky, Ben Jackson, managing director, is pleased with how the first year has gone.

“Focus has been the key. We believe we’re the only truly focused data storage and cybersecurity solutions distributor in the UK. Resellers expectations of distribution are often limited to having stock at the lowest price. We move the conversation to providing margin enhanced solutions to the resellers to satisfy their end users’ requirements.”

The signs so far are that it’s a winning proposition. From a standing start, the company now trades with over 400 resellers each month, has established itself as the leading Quantum LTO media distributor in EMEA and has recruited a skilled sales and customer service team.

Jackson says he is pleased with the progress the company has made in the first year of trading. “It’s not straightforward starting a distribution business competing with some long standing and large competitors. However, I am very pleased with where we are after the first year. We’ve exceeded our financial goals, we’ve had success in growing our customer base and we have delivered on our promises to our manufacturer partners.”

With a move to new larger premises, investment in a new CRM system and expansion of the team on the horizon, Titan are set to be an important part of the distribution landscape in the near future.
