Tech Data adds Honeywell Home products to its smart home portfolio

Tech Data will now distribute the complete range of smart devices from Honeywell Home.

The range includes thermostats, security cameras, doorbells, smart locks and even water sensors designed for use around the household.

The alliance extends Tech Data’s portfolio of smart devices and presents retailers and webstores with more opportunities to grow their business and “deliver more choice, value and trusted advice to tech-savvy consumers”.

Tech Data has been building its range of smart devices for the home and its comprehensive portfolio now offers energy and temperature monitoring devices, smart locks and sensors, security cameras and smart light bulbs, plugs and switches, as well as smart speakers, remote control devices and flood sensors.

The distributor says it is continuing to add new and complementary vendors as demand from consumers and businesses gathers pace.

“We are building a really strong portfolio of smart home solutions and we see this as a big area of growth potential for the channel this year,” said Catherine Craig, business manager, Consumer Technology Group at Tech Data.

“Tech Data has developed real expertise in smart home and that’s important because consumers who are putting smart security, lighting and other devices into their homes need to have access to brands and to advice they can trust. Tech Data can support retailers, resellers and webstores in delivering on both counts.

“Honeywell Home has a brilliant range of products with something for every customer and every retailer. Its products offer excellent quality and there are already millions of Honeywell smart devices in daily use, so consumers can trust them completely. They are great value and arriving just as the smart home market is really starting to take off and deliver significant sales to retailers.”

With annual sales of more than $4 billion, Honeywell Home is already one of the most successful players in the smart home market, having supplied devices for many utility companies in the UK and Europe.
