PCR Awards 2019: How to win in the Vendor Category

Entries for the 2019 PCR Awards are well underway, but do you know what it takes to win in the Vendor Category of next year’s awards?

Taking place at The Brewery, London on Wednesday 6th March, the awards features 5 categories – Retail, Reseller, Channel Services, Distribution and Vendor. Specifically for vendors, this means the chance to take home a Software, Services and Support Vendor, Components Vendor, Peripherals and Accessories Vendor, PC Vendor or Networking Vendor award.

Here we break down each award in this category, and what you need to include in your entry to ensure you have the best chance to becoming a finalist.

SOFTWARE, SERVICES AND SUPPORT VENDOR

The Software, Service and Support Award is open to any organisation that publishes software – this can include operating systems, accounting tools and other professional software, utility software such as security programs, or cloud based products and services. 

Entries should include:

  • Product innovation and support: Explain how software you produce is market leading – either through innovative features, effective and timely updates, and ingenuity in solving a problem for customers
  • Marketing campaigns: Provide evidence of campaigns/strategies that have made an impact, raised awareness of your business and resulted in an increase in business for you or your partners, whether through channel marketing, mainstream advertising, or direct marketing
  • Sales success: Lay out specific sales successes for a product or line of products over the past 12 months – be as specific as possible in terms of market growth and impact on the consumer base.
  • Support programmes: Explain what systems you have in place to offer excellent support not only to end-users but also to the distributors and resellers selling your products – this can include traditional customer service, online support or some form of automated portal
  • Client satisfaction: Please provide one channel testimonial (no more than 200 words) outlining praise for the both the products and working with you

COMPONENTS VENDOR

The Components Vendor award is open to any vendor that makes components, for example hard drives, GPUs or CPUs

Entries should include:

  • Product innovation: Explain how the products you produce are market leading – either through technical superiority, compatibility or generally pushing the computer market forward in terms of technical advancement
  • Marketing campaigns: Provide evidence of campaigns/strategies that have made an impact, raised awareness of your business and resulted in an increase in business for you or your partners, whether through channel marketing, mainstream advertising, or direct marketing
  • Sales success: Lay out specific sales successes for a product or line of products over the past 12 months – be as specific as possible in terms of market growth and impact on the consumer base.
  • Client satisfaction: Please provide one channel testimonial (no more than 200 words) outlining praise for the both the products and working with you

PERIPHERALS AND ACCESSORIES VENDOR

The Peripherals and Accessories Vendor award is open to any organisation that produces peripherals, such as mice, keyboards and headsets, and accessories, such as cases and bags. The award is also open to vendors who produce Virtual, Augmented or Mixed Reality products including headsets.

Entries should include:

  • Product innovation: Explain how the products you produce are market leading – either through innovative features, quality of build and design flair
  • Marketing campaigns: Provide evidence of campaigns/strategies that have made an impact, raised awareness of your business and resulted in an increase in business for you or your partners, whether through channel marketing, mainstream advertising, or direct marketing
  • Sales success: Lay out specific sales successes for a product or line of products over the past 12 months – be as specific as possible in terms of market growth and impact on the consumer base.
  • Client satisfaction: Please provide one channel testimonial (no more than 200 words) outlining praise for the both the products and working with you as a vendor and partner

PC VENDOR

The PC Vendor award is open to any organisation that produces desktop computers, laptops and hybrids. 

Entries should include:

  • Product innovation: Explain how the products you produce are market leading – either through innovative features, quality of build and design flair
  • Marketing campaigns: Provide evidence of campaigns/strategies that have made an impact, raised awareness of your business and resulted in an increase in business for you or your partners, whether through channel marketing, mainstream advertising, or direct marketing
  • Sales success: Lay out specific sales successes for a product or line of products over the past 12 months – be as specific as possible in terms of market growth and impact on the consumer base
  • Client satisfaction: Please provide one channel testimonial (no more than 200 words) outlining praise for the both the products and working with you as a vendor and partner

NETWORKING VENDOR 

The Networking Vendor category is open to any organisation that produces networking hardware, such as NAS drives and routers. 

Entries should include:

  • Product innovation: Explain how the products you produce are market leading – either through technical superiority, compatibility or generally pushing the computer market forward in terms of technical advancement
  • Marketing campaigns: Provide evidence of campaigns/strategies that have made an impact, raised awareness of your business and resulted in an increase in business for you or your partners, whether through channel marketing, mainstream advertising, or direct marketing
  • Sales success: Lay out specific sales successes for a product or line of products over the past 12 months – be as specific as possible in terms of market growth and impact on the consumer base
  • Client satisfaction: Please provide one channel testimonial (no more than 200 words) outlining praise for the both the products and working with you as a vendor and partner
