Network Group raises over £6,000 for Marie Curie

Dealer services collective Network Group has raised more than £6,000 for Marie Curie at its recent Gala event.

The total raised was £6,861.93, with vendors and members donating to the charity.

"As you can imagine we are very proud of our members and vendors for being so generous on the evening and it would be great to say a public thank you to everyone involved." Network Group’s B2C director Craig Hume told PCR.

Georgia Paton, community fundraiser for Marie Curie, said in a letter to Network Group: "On behalf of Marie Curie, I would like to say, a massive thank you to everybody involved in the Network Group 2016 Exhibition and Gala in Brighton. What a tremendous success it was.

"Everyone was very generous with their donations, proudly wearing their daffodils and in the evening the heads of tables were amazing at encouraging their groups to buy more raffle tickets, as well as making sure all participated in heads or tails! You raised a fantastic £6,861.93.

"This sum, could cover the cost of Marie Curie’s entire nursing service across the UK for one hour, with more to spare. Or, this money could provide 38 night shifts for one of our Marie Curie Nurses to look after someone with a terminal illness, and support their families, for a full nine-hour shift, in the comfort of their own homes.

"Alternatively, this sum could pay for the care and support of six terminally ill people and their families at the end of their life."
