Facebook to test new virtual assistant dubbed Moneypenny

Facebook could be competing with the likes of Siri and Cortana with its own virtual assistant, according to reports.

Taking inspiration from the Bond films, the assistant will allegedly be called Moneypenny, and will assist users on the social network.

Moneypenny will live within Facebook’s Messenger app and will allow users to ask people for help when researching.

Plus, the service will also help users to order products and services, according to The Information.

No release date has been confirmed, and employees from the social network are reportedly testing out the service internally.

Facebook has already made changes to its Messenger app, making the decision to split the messaging service away from its main app.

In addition, the company has also previously added a payment service and video calling to its Messenger app.
