Utopia’s new online strategy includes plans to roll out systematic updates throughout the site

Utopia: ‘We’re the only PC builder with a truly mobile-friendly website’

Utopia Computers has announced the launch of its new website, and claims it is the only one in the PC builder space to be truly mobile-friendly.

This also makes Utopia the first in the UK PC system builder market to take complete advantage of the latest bootstrap framework, which includes it being completely optimised for mobile.

Craig Hume, Director of Utopia, said: “We are thrilled to introduce our new website, which offers a game-changing experience for PC enthusiasts.

“The number of people looking to design their own system online is growing all the time, and we wanted to create a site that would help this huge number of people join in on PC building nirvana, no matter what device they are on.”

"After Google’s announcement (see this Google blog post) of an algorithm that is going to impact sites with a poor mobile experience hard, I can see it being an important issue for PC retailers in the coming year. It also gives independent retailers a chance to compete against the bigger guys, like Alienware, who are still unresponsive and probably will be for quite some time due to the complexities of renewing an entire site."

The site launch is part of a new online strategy, in which Utopia plans to roll out systematic updates throughout the website over the next few months.

It will now work on desktop, mobile and on tablet devices, tailoring the experience to each user, allowing them to access and customise a range of systems with 100,000’s of configuration combinations, including Utopia’s exclusive Metallix paintwork.

Hume concluded: “With UK’s online shoppers spend set to increase to £14.95 billion via mobile devices in 2015, an increase of almost 78 per cent on £8.41 billion in 2014, we would expect to see our competitors attempting to follow our lead in the coming months.”
