IFA 2014: Sony Xperia Z3 and SmartWatch 3 rumoured to launch

Sony will reportedly launch a new flagship smartphone and new wearable tech at this year’s IFA technology show in Berlin.

Details of a launch on September 4th have made their way around the internet and it appears the new Z3 will feature a 5.2-inch ‘triluminos’ display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and extended battery life compared to previous models.

A third generation of Sony’s SmartWatch is also expected. The SmartWatch 3 is rumoured to come with a 1.68-inch 320×320 display and will run Android Wear.

As well as the two big reveals, Sony is rumoured to also unveil a few lower-end devices.

A compact version of the Z3, which will come with a 4.6-inch display is expected, along with the Xperia E3 smartphone. The E3 is set to come with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 4.7-inch display.

It is also rumoured Sony will showcase an 8-inch tablet, called the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
