“Storing equipment in an all-metal server cabinet within a boardroom often appears out of place"

StarTech wants to make server storage more stylish

Components and equipment vendor StarTech.com has launched a new type of server cabinet to spruce up the workplace.

The 12U wood-paneled server cabinet promises "stylish" server equipment storage for offices and boardrooms.

It’s designed to blend in with office decor, allowing IT and A/V professionals to store valuable equipment ‘while maintaining the appearance of an office or boardroom setting’.

The cabinet features wood paneling and a shaded glass front window, as well as front and rear panel key-locks to restrict access to valuable devices.

“Our wood-paneled server cabinet makes it easier to keep important equipment on-hand in an office or boardroom, without breaking up the decor” said Matt Burton, Product Manager for StarTech.com’s Server Management product line.

“Storing equipment in a more traditional, all-metal server cabinet within a boardroom or office often appears out of place. Using a cabinet that matches the rest of the décor makes it possible to keep important equipment nearby while hiding it in plain sight”.

The cabinet supports a weight capacity of up to 300lbs (136kg), has an adjustable mounting depth from 16.7in (423mm) to 20.6in (523mm), with ventilation and cable entry panels.

StarTech.com’s wood-paneled server cabinet will be available from Insight, Misco, Amazon.co.uk and Dabs and is also distributed by Entatech, Ingram Micro and Exertis Micro-P.
