Philips unveils ‘virtually seamless’ two-in-one monitor

Philips has unveiled two new monitors, one of which it claims is the ‘world’s first virtually seamless’ two-in-one display.

The Philips 19DP6QJNS Two-in-One Monitor combines two 19-inch screens, providing a ‘virtually seamless’ 32-inch (81.3 cm) display.

The monitor features a 3.5mm narrow border and panoramic IPS display, meaning images can be viewed from a wide viewing angle.

Both screens can additionally tilt forward and backward up to 22.5 degrees.

The display received the 2014 Computex Design and Innovation Gold Award for outstanding innovation.

Connectivity options include one DisplayPort and VGA input on the first display, and one VGA input and one MHL-enabled HDMI input on the second display, along with two USB inputs on each display.

The monitor includes MHL capability to allow mobile devices to connect to and display content on the big screen display, while charging.

The Philips Two-in-One Monitor is yet to have a European release confirmed.

Philips has also announced the Philips 28-inch 288P6LJEB 4K UltraClear UHD display.

Featuring an Ultra HD resolution of 3840×2160 (2160p), the screen also utilises’s Philips’ UltraClear technology to improve picture quality.

The monitor has a SmartResponse refresh rate of 1ms, making it suitable for gaming, while MultiView support enables simultaneous dual connections and viewing.

Stereo speakers, a SmartErgoBase, MHL, USB 3.0 ports and SmartConnect with HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA and dual-link DVI connections are also included.

The new Philips 288P6LJEB 4K UltraClear UHD display will be available during summer 2014, at a recommended retail price of £599.
