We talk to Thule’s Darren Long, area sales manager for the UK and ROI, about the accessory vendor’s product range ahead of PCR Boot Camp 2014.
Thule has signed up as a Silver Partner for PCR Boot Camp 2014. The expo and conference event, held at the Brewery in London on Wednesday May 21st, is free to attend for retailers and resellers – to secure your place register here today.
The full conference line-up has also been confirmed.
We asked Thule’s Darren Long about which products the firm plans to showcase at this year’s event and what sets them apart.
PCR: What products and services will you be promoting at Boot Camp this year?
Darren Long: We will exhibit carrying solutions for mobile computing and MHD (mobile handheld devices) from our global brands: Thule and Case Logic.
What do you see being the biggest challenge facing PC retailers at the moment?
DL: I would suggest that mastering the complexity of modern multi-channel retailing and effectively managing all of the channels is the key to success.
In your opinion, what’s the most important thing for retailers and resellers to bear in mind when dealing with customers?
DL: For me, the most important part of selling or delivering any service is to truly understand the requirements of your consumer.
If you could wave a magic wand, what would you change about the channel?
DL: That’s a difficult one. I guess, with my background in independent retail, I would like to see more doors in our high streets.
What distinguishes you from your competitors?
DL: Thule and Case Logic are both parts of the Thule Group. The group meets the consumer’s need to protect everything they care about as they live an active life – from a PC to a child and even their bicycle. This means that we have a great depth in our understanding for the consumer’s needs and opinions.
What is your proudest moment as a company?
DL: We are always very proud when we receive recognition from our customers who like our products. We are also proud that we are winning many awards for our design and function: the latest one being the TIPA Award, which recognised the Thule Perspektiv photo bag as the best photo bag in 2014.
What are the key brands/lines you carry?
DL: Under the Thule and Case Logic brands, we design, develop, manufacture and distribute carrying solutions for today’s modern portable technology, such as cameras, laptops, tablet, smartphone and other MHD.
What are you most looking forward to at PCR Boot Camp?
DL: Meeting new retailers and understanding how we can work together to bring our brands to consumers.
What are your aims and ambitions for the next few years?
DL: To build both the Thule and Case Logic brands in the channel and realise the success enjoyed in other major markets around the globe.
