Nokia issues apology after ‘F-you’ tweet

Nokia New Zealand has posted an apology after tweeting “Fuck you”.

The post was quickly deleted, before an apology was issued from the @NokiaNZ Twitter account.

“Contrary to the last tweet, we love our Nokia NZ fans,” it said in the expletive-free follow-up (below).

“We’re investigating the source now.”

While an official explanation is yet to be issued, the tweet may have been posted by an unhappy worker, by mistake or even by someone who had comprised the account – with several large organisations such as the BBC, Reuters and Burger King having had their Twitter accounts hacked in the past.
