In-car tech to feature at CES as market is predicted to increase by 20% in 2014

The CEA has announced that a record nine automotive manufacturers will exhibit at International CES 2014.

Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes and Toyota will showcase their latest technologies among an enhanced lineup of automotive technology exhibits, TechZones and conference sessions.

“As the car has become more connected and consumers demand increased interaction between their mobile devices and their car, we have seen the number of auto manufactures at the International CES rise year after year,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA.

“CES touches every corner of the consumer technology economy, from digital health to automotive. We can’t wait to welcome a record number of automotive manufacturers to the 2014 CES.”

Automotive exhibits at the 2014 CES will cover more than 140,000 net square feet of exhibit space, up 25 per cent over the 2013 event.

CEA industry forecasts predict sales of factory-installed vehicle technologies will increase by nearly 20 per cent in 2014 to $11 billion.
