Red Mac Pro created in collaboration with industrial designer Marc Newson

Jony Ive’s special edition red Mac Pro unveiled

Apple’s design chief Jony Ive has revealed a special customised version of the Mac Pro which is expected to reach up to $60,000 at auction.

The red Mac Pro was created in collaboration with industrial designer Marc Newson and will feature in the pair’s Sotheby’s auction on November 23rd.

The auction will feature a number of other items customised by Ive, including a solid rose-gold pair of Apple EarPods, and Arco Lamp, and a specially modified Range Rover.

All proceeds will go toward the Global Fund to right AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The standard version of the Mac Pro is set to go on sale in December for $2,999, but if you’ve got a spare $60,000, why not put in a bid for a red one at sothebys.com?
