Acer Iconia W4 with Windows 8.1 launches

With the official release of Windows 8.1, Acer has unveiled its new tablet, the Iconia W4.

The Iconia range is split into two – A-series parts for Android tablets and W-series for Windows. The W4 uses Intel’s Bay Trail platform, which means an Intel Atom Silvermont CPU, running at up to 1.8GHz.

Specs include an 8-inch 1280×800 IPS panel, 5MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, microSD slot with support for up to 32GB, micro-HDMI port, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and Windows 8.1.

Acer also revealed a number of peripherals for its new tablet, including a keyboard cover, a ‘responsive’ passive stylus, power bank, protective film, and an adapter kit with bag.

The Iconia W4 will begin shipping later this month. Coming in two versions, the 32GB model is priced at $330, while the 64GB model will cost $380.
