Yellow iPhone 5C appears to be first new iPhone to sell-out

Customers appear to have gone bananas for the yellow iPhone 5C, as it is claimed the unlocked model has sold out on Apple’s US store.

Shipping dates for the $549 unlocked 16GB yellow iPhone 5C slipped from the release date of Apple’s 5C and 5S iPhones, September 20th, to being “available to ship” almost a week later, September 25th.

First noticed by 9to5Mac, the phone is said be shipping in one to two weeks on Apple’s Hong Kong store site, and Canadians who preorder can expect their devices to ship between launch day and September 24th.

For all other countries, including the UK, the iPhones are still listed as arriving on September 20th.

Preorders opened for the iPhone 5C on Friday, September 13th, following its announcement alongside the 5S a week ago. The 5S, however, is unavailable to preorder, but will also launch on September 20th.
