DCC SerCom announces senior management appointments

Micro-P, MSE Group and Gem parent distribution company DCC SerCom has confirmed three senior management appointments.

Gerry O’Keeffe – MD of Micro-P Group – will become MD UK and Ireland for parent firm DCC SerCom. He will take responsibility for all of DCC’s operations in the UK and Ireland and he will be focused on ensuring its vendors and customers receive an "unrivalled service offering".

Chris Peacock has been appointed Deputy Managing Director UK and Ireland, and Head of Home Entertainment. He’s worked as MD of Gem Distribution for the past seven years. Peacock will ensure the business is positioned at the forefront of the market for packaged and digital products.

Thirdly, Cormac Watters, previously the Head of Group IT for DCC plc (DCC SerCom’s parent company), will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer and Head of Supply Chain Services at DCC SerCom.

Additionally, Kevin Henry, who has worked as MD of SerCom Solutions for the last 17 years, will retire on November 30th. Watters will be responsible for the development and operations of DCC SerCom’s Supply Chain Solutions business unit, SerCom Solutions, going forwards.

Niall Ennis, MD of DCC SerCom, said: “I wish Gerry, Chris and Cormac every success in their new roles. Each of them has proven to be an excellent commercial leader in their current positions, and I am certain that their contribution in these new roles will be instrumental in the future development of DCC SerCom. I would also like to thank Kevin for his loyal service and wish him every happiness in his retirement."

DCC SerCom has grown its turnover from £843 million in 2008 to £1.850 billion in its financial year just ended, and in a statement says it is "well positioned to achieve further strong growth this year".

"We have ambitious growth targets and in order to achieve those targets it is necessary to ensure that we have the appropriate infrastructure and management structure. It is in this context that we are embarking on a rebranding exercise to be launched in October, and are investing in our IT and logistics capabilities to provide the platform to enable us to continue to grow our market share supported by best in class systems and warehousing."
